The Public Safety and Courts Building at 1000 Throckmorton St. has a new name — A.D. Marshall Public Safety & Courts.
A.D. Marshall served the City of Fort Worth for 53 years, first as a police officer from 1952 to 1985 and then as a deputy city marshal for two more decades. He was known affectionately as “Marshal Marshall.”
The lobby of the newly renamed building showcases a bronze plaque with Marshall’s likeness and years of service. The 69-year-old facility served as City Hall until 1971, when the current municipal building opened its doors across 10th Street.
