S/V Freedom Won scheduled to arrive at Corpus Christi Marina in May
Corpus Christi, TX, May 4, 2007 – Freedom Won, a classic 72’ Sailing Yacht designed by Ted Irwin is currently making its way from the Caribbean, across the Gulf of Mexico to Corpus Christi and is expected to arrive around May 10th.
Freedom Won, operated by Captain Jay Hill of Freedom Charters, will provide more amenities and entertainment options for Corpus Christi visitors. Operating out of Corpus Christi Marina, Freedom Charters will offer many sailing options from two hour Day Sails, Sunset Sails, Dinner/Sunset Sail combinations to private half/full day charters and weekend trips.
Jay Hill, a native Texan, spent ten years in the Navy, five of which were on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise where he was fortunate enough to travel around the world four times, sailing in every known condition. He has visited 48 countries and 36 of the United States and all of their islands in Atlantic, Pacific, and Caribbean, and has been cruising the Caribbean for the last 6 years. Now he finds himself cruising casually - helping others live their dream of sailing - even if it's on a part-time basis. Jay says “I am looking forward to coming home to Texas”.
