Snake River Farms is a family owned business, started by Robert Rebholtz, the founder of Agri Beef Co., a family owned cattle company located in Boise, Idaho. Snake River Farms began over a decade ago with a small herd of Wagyu cattle from the Kobe region of Japan. The name Wagyu refers to all Japanese beef cattle ("Wa" meaning Japanese-style and "gyu" meaning cattle.)
