CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas— The Texas State Aquarium is pleased to introduce its two new Atlantic bottlenose dolphins—Kai and DJ. They are both male and are joining Cobie and Shadow in DolphinBay.

 

Kai was born on October 11, 1994 at the Brookfield Zoo in Illinois. Kai is light gray in color, and his name is a Hawaiian word that means “spirit of the sea.” DJ was born on June 10, 1996 at the Minnesota Zoo and weighs close to 410 pounds. His most distinguishing characteristic is a small white patch in front of his left eye.
